Scholarships for doctoral candidates participating in the Bayerische Forschungsstiftung (Bavarian Research Foundation) projects (DOK)
This program supports foreign doctoral candidates with their doctorates in Bavaria and graduates of Bavarian universities during their doctorate abroad. Because of the Foundation's statutes and the guidelines for the allocation of funding from the Bayerische Forschungsstiftung, scholarships will be granted only for research projects whose topics are connected with the projects and research objectives of the Bayerische Forschungsstiftung.
Requirements and scope of support
A prerequisite for the support is that scientist from a foreign and a Bavarian university, who work together scientifically, select the doctoral candidate. Together they determine the topic that needs to be related to a project and the research objectives of the Bavarian Research Foundation, and take on its supervision. The scholarship is intended normally for a doctoral thesis of a maximum of three years. An extension is not possible. The age limit is 30 (in the month of the selection decision). The scholarship amounts to €1,500 per month. In addition, there are grants for travel and materials amounting to a maximum of € 2,500 per year as well as family allowances and health insurance subsidies.
